Space technology has always been a big scope of exploration. And space missions have always been a complex task. So was India’s second moon mission- Chandrayaan 2. But the real question is was it a success or a failure?

Chandrayaan-1 v/s Chandrayaan-2

India’s first moon mission was Chandrayaan-1 launched on October,
2008. And it helped in the discovery of hydroxyl (OH) and water molecules (H2O) on the surface of the moon and it sure was a successful mission. Chandrayaan-2 had three phases. The first one was the liftoff of the launcher. Which was successful and then the crucial separation
of the lander. And orbiter was also completed without any casualties. And then it was expected to be a soft landing on the moon’s surface, in which the last leg out of the four legs was landed successfully. Also, a
land rover named Vikram land rover was expected to be moving on the surface of the moon for more discovery.

Although it was a hard landing on the moon, according to ISRO and its chairman, K shivan, it was a 98% successful mission, we still could continue our research from an altitude of 100 km from our orbiter x which was successfully separated from the lander. The life of the orbiter was extended from 1 year to 7 years because of less consumption of fuel, so ISRO has got 7 years to prove it a complete victory.

Is not END in facts it means “Efforts never die”. Mr. K. Shivan and the whole ISRO team did a great job. Hopefully in next attempt the mission will accomplished successfully.
