Sophisticated Indian Bollywood Actor Rishi Kapoor Passed Away at Mumbai

Rishi Kapoor – A Bollywood Actor who had a glorious career with the world of Hindi cinemas, passed away at Mumbai’s H N Reliance Hospital this morning.

According to a statement issued by the family, “Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. He remained jovial and determined to measure to the fullest throughout two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food, and films remained his focus and everybody who met him during this point was amazed at how he didn’t let his illness get the higher of him.”

He started his career early, as a toddler actor in his father’s film Mera Naam Joker (1970), that he also won a Filmfare Award. His first role as an adult came within the iconic Bobby (1973) opposite Dimple Kapadia. Therefore, He was honored with the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974 for the film.

Rishi Kapoor has performed the romantic lead in 92 films between 1973 and 2000 and was saluted with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. Moreover, He has performed the opposite character with his future wife Neetu Singh in 12 films. The couple had two children–daughter Riddhima and son Ranbir, who is also a popular actor.

Above all, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Multifaceted, endearing and lively…this was Rishi Kapoor Ji. He was a powerhouse of talent. I will always recall our interactions, even on social media. Rishi Kapoor was passionate about films and India’s progress.
